Besiktas president Fikret Orman this week flew to London to finalise the club’s ongoing striker problem, explain Turkey’s Fanatik.
Orman, who arrived London on Tuesday, is targeting a host of Premier League forwards to replace Wolsfburg-bound Mario Gomez.
Besiktas coach Senol Gunes thinks one of Chelsea’s Loic Remy, Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony and Liverpool’s Christian Benteke is enough to replace Mario Gomez who scored a very impressive 26 goals last season.
Besiktas will offer €3.5m to loan Christian Benteke but Jurgen Klopp is unwilling to accept such an offer as Liverpool apparently want £32.5m for the Belgian to leave permanently and won’t accept less than £30M, which is impossible for Besiktas to afford due to FFP rules.
Remy and Bony are easier to sign than Benteke of course, as their clubs will consider loan offers. Remy is now the 3rd choice striker after Chelsea signed Michy Batshuayi from Marseille and Guardiola made it clear Bony will struggle in his new playing-style.
Fanatik also says that the final decision is to be made before the 21st August as Besiktas look to open their season in the Turkish Super League against Alanyaspor.
