It was only a matter of time before Michy Bathsuayi was dragged into the Romelu Lukaku rumour. Since moving from Marseille to Chelsea in the summer transfer window, Batshuayi has played just 97 minutes of Premier League football, with Antonio Conte only feeding the striker on scraps.
With Lukaku making it clear his Everton future is under question, Chelsea rumours have been given a boost, and so it makes some level of sense to suggest Batshuayi could be used as part of any deal.
Batshuayi has been linked to so many Premier League clubs over recent years that it’s no surprise Everton fall into that category, but the Belgian international simply isn’t as valuable as he was a year ago. Chelsea using him so little has seen a value drop and if Everton remain interested, they surely wouldn’t want to pay the same as what was sent to Marseille.
The potential move to Everton has received backing in Belgium. Footnews.Be have polled national fans and a mighty 96% who responded reckon Goodison Park would be a good destination.
