A possible Gerard Deulofeu exit from Everton is one of the most covered transfer rumours of the January window. There’s some excitement in Italy that a Serie A club, with AC Milan linked the most, could be signing Deulofeu.
The claims have reached Spain and could be a chance for Barcelona to get themselves some spending money.
Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo point out that Barcelona have a first refusal clause, meaning Everton would have to sell to them if they matched the offers of others.
Barcelona will have absolutely no intention of buying Deulofeu from Everton, Luis Enrique wasn’t impressed and the 22 year old hasn’t really shown enough since his return to Goodison Park.
Passing up the clause, Barcelona will be due 5% of any transfer fee.
That’s not a great deal for Everton to worry about, but would be received as a nice bonus at Barcelona, and an add-on to what they originally received from Everton.
Intriguing. Claims from Belgium that Everton have only paid €4m for new striker, rather than €12m. #EFC https://t.co/QjG2e8H3gr
