Manchester United’s talks with PSV Eindhoven for midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré are ‘progressing well’.
That’s according to Rudy Galetti, who says there are ‘positive feelings’ about the transfer taking place this summer.
Manchester United have been in the hunt for a new central midfielder since the transfer window opened, with it clearly a position Erik ten Hag wants to add in.
His main target had been Frenkie de Jong, but that deal may have fallen by the wayside despite Barcelona’s efforts to get him out of the Camp Nou.
The Dutchman has now travelled on Barcelona’s pre-season tour, a further hint he won’t be joining Manchester United, and it seems they’ve turned their attention elsewhere.
Galetti reports that talks between United and PSV are ‘progressing well and quickly’, and there are ‘positive feelings’ from all involved in the process.
He explains that a price tag of €35-40m is ‘under discussion’ for Sangaré, who has long been linked with a move away from PSV after two impressive seasons with them.
It is now Manchester United who are at the front of the queue trying to get him, and we’d expect there to be more details on the talks, particularly from the Netherlands, to appear before too long.
