As seems to have been the case for some time, Belgian views on Leander Dendoncker to Everton remain mixed.

Monday’s edition of Het Nieuwsblad insists the Merseyside club are still in the running to sign Dendoncker, and now there’s ‘three days left to complete the deal’, things could move quickly.

That would at least slightly go against what was reported by HLN at the weekend. Everton had been offered Dendoncker, it was explained, but the player was ‘not an option’ right now for the Toffees.

It was stated things could change before the window closes, with Everton interest somewhat put on the back-burner.

On Friday Het Nieuwsblad had brought Everton back into the equation, saying the Toffees had returned with their interest. It was claimed the good relationship between the two clubs would be key, and Everton could leave Dendoncker on loan at Anderlecht for the rest of the season.

Het Nieuwsblad even said that could put the price down to €15m, which would certainly be an impressive transfer.

Monday’s edition of the same newspaper again goes over the loan option from Everton, this time not mentioning a transfer fee.
