Pinch us if you’ve heard this one before; Cristiano Ronaldo could be making a return to Manchester United.
Yes, we’re aware that’s an old story these days, with barely a summer going by in which the Portuguese superstar isn’t linked with a return to Old Trafford.
Ahead of this summer transfer window, there’s already been a build-up for it to be a thing, with Ronaldo’s future up in the air at Juventus.
Tuttosport pick up on that today and explain what’s going on, detailing that Juventus are looking to the future, and that could be without Ronaldo.
He’s yet to commit his future to the club, and what Juve do this summer will depend on whether he stays or leaves.
At the moment, the latter is looking more likely and this is where Manchester United come into it, with it explained that he is ‘tempted’ by a return to his former club.
That could come via an exchange with Paul Pogba, who himself has been linked with a return to Juventus and has Mino Raiola working in the background.
At the minute, nothing seems to be too imminent, with Juventus waiting on Ronal, do who is ‘evaluating’ the situation and the different solutions in front of them.
One of them is apparently Manchester United, which tallies with what we’ve seen elsewhere this week, when it was stated they ‘would gladly welcome back’ the Portuguese superstar.
Whether it’d be in a deal involving Pogba is debatable though, with that very much in Juventus’ favour when you consider Ronaldo is 36-years-old.
Not that that is stopping him in any way, given he managed 29 goals in 33 league games this season, but we’re sure Manchester United would need a bit more sweetening before sanctioning such a deal.
However, the idea is apparently there, and Ronaldo is weighing things up, which suggests he is as ‘tempted’ as Tuttosport say.
