Chelsea are still ‘chasing’ Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, but the German side don’t want to sell him this summer.
That’s according to Sport 1 journalist Patrick Berger, who says Dortmund expect Jadon Sancho, not Haaland, to move this year.
Haaland has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for the last few months, with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel believed to be determined to add the ‘world class striker’ to his squad.
It’s largely felt that Chelsea would have to do something special to convince Haaland into the move, although that may have changed after they won the Champions League.
Either way, it seems they are determined to fight, with Berger reporting they are ‘pushing’ to try and get a deal for Haaland over the line.
Dortmund are not keen on letting it happen, though. Their view is ‘clear’; they expect Sancho to leave and don’t want to sell Haaland this summer.
This is something the striker has also alluded to, insisting that he will respect the contract he has with the Bundesliga outfit.
That’s something you’d expect him to say, and it now remains to be seen how strongly both he and Dortmund will stick to their word with Chelsea determined to make something happen.
