If you have followed various reports covered by Sport Witness on Nikola Milenković, you will have established by now the defender isn’t planning to sign a new contract at Fiorentina.

Manchester United have been regularly linked and three days ago, local newspaper Corriere Fiorentino reported that ‘barring any surprises’ the 23-year-old will move to England in the summer. He is keen on playing in the Premier League.

The centre-back’s current deal runs down in 2022 and he has so far decided against signing an extension. This is again repeated in Calciomercato’s latest report.

Fiorentina now appear ‘resigned to the idea of losing’ the Serbia international in the next market.

It’s claimed La Viola are forced to evaluate the best option for the player, considering his decision to not renew and his latest poor displays for the national team.

Both Inter Milan and AC Milan have closely followed Milenković in recent months, but the Red Devils seem to be in ‘pole position’ for the Fiorentina man.

Manchester United have been regularly pushed forward as a main contender and time should tell whether or not Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will sign Milenković after this season.
