AIK defender Haukur Hauksson has confirmed to the Swedish media Leeds United are in talks to sign him this summer. Only this week we covered reports from Iceland that the Championship side are interested din him.
Speaking to Aftonbladet, Hauksson was asked about the reported interested from Leeds United, and what he knew of the English side. Hauksson revealed his agent is currently in discussions with Leeds United, along with AIK. The Iceland international said he is just focusing on his club’s next game, but realises Leeds United are a big club.
“My agent has told me that we are in contact with Leeds. They are negotiating with AIK right now. But will now just focus on the Hammarby match. It’s a big, big club in England,” said the AIK defender.
Earlier this week the Icelandic media reported Leeds United are looking to move in on full back, with claims they’ve already table a bid with AIK to sign the defender in this window.
Hauksson wasn’t used during the Euros by the Iceland manager, but is still being lined up as a like for like replacement for the departed Sam Byram.
