Dal Varesanovic is today featured in an interview with NTV Spor, and talks about his move to Liverpool and how it went badly for him.
The 22-year-old, who currently plays for Caykur Rizespor in Turkey, responded to many questions about his time in England with the Reds.
Varesanovic was quite young when joining Liverpool, still in his mid teens, and was just one more talent trying to make his way to Jurgen Klopp’s first team.
The player recalled that rejecting the Reds was never an option, and that’s why he didn’t think much when the offer arrived.
Now, however, he admits that the transfer did not happen at the best time in his career, as he had some tough years trying to adapt to Liverpool and English football.
That’s why he doesn’t regret leaving.
“I was separated from my family for the first time at a young age, maybe I wasn’t mentally ready for it. I had a lot of problems in Liverpool. The fact that I experienced these things, the problems I had there made me stronger today. Seeing the difficulties early in Liverpool was a plus for me.”
Varesanovic joined Liverpool’s academy in a move from Sarajevo back in 2017. He spent three years featuring for the Reds’ youth ranks, never been used by the first team, before returning to his former side in 2020.
Last summer he joined his current club Caykur Rizespor, where he has 11 goals and three assists in 33 appearances this season and is showing the talent that made Liverpool keen in the first place.
