It’s understandable if not many Liverpool fans are aware of Armin Hodzic, a player the club signed from Željezničar in May 2011.
Hodzic stayed on Liverpool’s books until his contract ended in 2014, including taking a loan spell back at his previous club Željezničar.
Unable to breakthrough at Liverpool, the striker was forced to look for a new club and was snapped up by Dinamo Zagreb. Now 22 years of age, Hodzic is a full international for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Progressing well at Dinamo, Hodzic has been speaking to Croatian newspaper Vecernji List, and was asked what advice advice he’d give to a 17 year old with an offer from Liverpool, so basically what advice would he give his former self.
Hodzic sounds like he enjoyed his time with the Premier League club, and still has a lot of respect for Liverpool: “It’s not easy leave your family when young. Again, I think you have to be focused on football. That’s what I’d tell him, and to focus on the pitch.
“And it is above all always an honour to receive an invitation from a great club. It was one of the happier times in my life when I was in Liverpool, surely that situation helps to you develop as a person and as a player.”
The young footballer certainly sounds like he doesn’t regret his time at Liverpool, even if he wasn’t able to make the breakthrough.
