Ajax’s Brian Brobbey has opened the door for a move to Arsenal, after publicly expressing his desire to join them.
The striker has been speaking to NOS Jeugdjournaal, where he was asked about his ‘dream club’.
When responding to that, the 22-year-old mentioned Arsenal, and his comments are relayed by Soccer News.
“Arsenal, I think that is a very nice club. If you look at that stadium. A very nice club, but that also applies to Manchester United, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.”
This isn’t the first time the 22-year-old has talked about the possibility of joining Arsenal. Last month, Brobbey said he fancies a move to the north London club, and also insisted he’s worth €80m.
On April 21st, De Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij stated Ajax have no plans to part ways with the Netherlands international in the summer window. His deal lasts until 2027 and the journalist stated the Eredivisie side will consider changing their stance only if there’s an offer of around €60-80m.
Soccer News now question whether the Amsterdam club can stop the frontman’s exit, if there’s an ‘astronomical offer’ in the next window.
The Dutchman returned to Ajax in 2022 and has impressed for them this season, scoring 22 goals and registering 12 assists from 43 games.
Arsenal are in the market for a new striker and Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee is said to be their main target, who reportedly has a €40m release clause.
