Soufyan Ahannach is signing a contract with Brighton & Hove Albion for a period of three years, according to multiple reports in the Netherlands on Thursday morning.

Dutch media outlet NOS say Ahannach is making what they describe as a ‘dream transfer’ from Almere City to Premier League club Brighton.

With only a single year left on his contract at Almere, Ahannach now finds himself with a much more secure three year Brighton deal, which also comes with the possibility to extend for a further season after that.

Ahannach is a winger who has come through the ranks at Almere. He’s right footed, but plays mainly on the left, with attacking midfielder his secondary position.

Almere are an Eerste Divisie club, which is the second tier of Dutch football.

It’s big jump from that level in the Netherlands to the Premier League, so there’s every chance Ahannach will be in Brighton’s development squad.
