Over the past week or so, Lazio have been exploring the opportunity to sign Leeds United’s Junior Firpo on a free transfer.

It seems as if there is more interest from Italy in the left-back, whose contract at Elland Road runs out in a matter of weeks.

TuttoSport have looked at AC Milan’s interest in the defender and they believe the Leeds United player is seen as a potential replacement for Theo Hernandez by the Rossoneri.

The newspaper claim that with Igli Tare appointed as the new sporting director at the Diavolo, they have already moved for Firpo.

The Dominican’s free agent status is appealing to Milan, who also have Club Brugge’s Maxime de Cuyper on their shortlist. The Rossoneri had tried to sign Firpo when he was leaving Barcelona and they see this summer as the perfect opportunity to make amends.

De Cuyper is currently at the top of Tare’s shortlist to replace Hernandez but Milan do not want to be caught unprepared in the event of his exit.

Corriere dello Sport also report the Rossoneri are seriously considering the Leeds United player, who is seen as a market opportunity this summer.

Again, there’s nothing new in Spain as Real Betis prepare to face Chelsea in the UEFA Conference League final this evening. Should they win that, they may be more encouraged to turn their Junior Firpo interest into something more concrete.
