Wolverhampton Wanderers have endured a poor season, winning just two of their 16 Premier League games so far.

They currently sit 19th in the table and parted ways with manager Gary O’Neil on Sunday.

Various claims have stated Wolves are working on appointing Al Shabab FC manager Vítor Pereira as their new boss. The Portuguese press have also been covering Wolves interest in the 56-year-old.

Maisfutebol state Pereira has a €1m release clause in his contract with the Middle East club. Although this isn’t an obstacle for the English side, the report states they are trying to lower the price.

The former FC Porto and Fenerbahçe manager is keen on taking the job at Molineux and there seems to be optimism of all parties finding an agreement.

Maisfutebol say the Portuguese coach ‘will travel to England in the next few days’ to finalise the details of the deal with Wolves. This would only be possible if the two clubs find an agreement.

Over at O Jogo, they are also reporting Wolves are negotiating with the Saudi Arabian side to lower the price to €700-800k. If there’s no agreement, the Premier League club would raise their offer to trigger his clause.

Monday’s edition of A Bola claims the coach dreams of managing in England and that can be fulfilled soon by Wolves, who are willing to pay his €1m clause.

They add negotiations are ongoing between the parties and ‘good relations between Vítor Pereira and the Saudi club will be crucial in this process’.

If the two clubs can agree a deal, Pereira’s dream of managing in England will come true.
