Two days ago, Corriere dello Sport reported Arsenal’s €47m bid for Riccardo Calafiori was rejected by Bologna.
On Thursday, TuttoMercatoWeb said the Serie A side have ‘said yes’ to the Gunners’ €50m bid, and that the defender has been convinced to join the north London club.
Later that day, Corriere di Bologna reported Arsenal haven’t made an improved bid, but are expected to make one soon.
Calciomercato state the centre-back is ‘very close’ to joining the north London club. They add the two parties found a contractual agreement for a five-year deal.
Mikel Arteta’s side are in contact with the Italian club to agree on the transfer fee, and the report says Bologna are aiming to collect €50m plus bonuses from the star’s sale.
Gazzetta dello Sport also state Arsenal have found an agreement with the defender for a five-year deal worth €4m per year.
After Bologna rejected their earlier offer of €47m, it’s claimed the Premier League side have made an improved bid in excess of €50m.
The report states the 22-year-old is ‘increasingly closer’ to Arsenal, indicating their new offer would have convinced the Italian club. The player has attracted interest from several clubs, but it’s the Gunners who are set to win the battle this summer.
Arsenal have to agree a deal with Bologna, which is likely to be sorted out in the next few hours or days.
