Liverpool duo Federico Chiesa and Darwin Nunez have already agreed to join Napoli this summer, with the Italian side working on moves.

That’s according to Ruleta Sport journalist Gerardo Fasano, via Area Napoli, who reports that both Liverpool players have already said yes to a move to Naples.

Chiesa and Nunez have both been linked with moves away from Liverpool this summer after barely featuring under Arne Slot last season.

The Italian winger was a peripheral figure throughout the campaign after arriving from Juventus, while Nunez slowly fell down the pecking order as the season progressed after failing to convince the Dutch manager.

They are expected to be moved on this summer as a result, particularly as Liverpool spend big reshaping the squad and look to also bring in funds to keep balancing the books.

Napoli have been credited with an interest in both over the last few weeks, with them also spending big to strengthen Antonio Conte’s squad after a title winning campaign. Fasano now reports that both Liverpool players have agreed to the move, but it would depend on Victor Osimhen going the other way.

“Chiesa and Nunez have already said yes to Napoli, this is the news I can give you and it refers to the very last hours of the transfer market,” he said.

“What is missing to conclude the deal? Victor Osimhen’s yes has not yet been given. Furthermore, both Napoli and Liverpool are working on defining the details regarding the costs of the players’ registration cards.”

Now, we’ll take this with a massive pinch of salt as, at least mathematically speaking, it wouldn’t work for either club. Napoli in particular are keen on the money they can make from selling Osimhen.

Then there’s the matter of the Nigerian’s wages. He’s being offered huge money in Saudi Arabia and big sums in Turkey too, so it would take a big offer to convince him to move to Liverpool.

It would take some work for the deal to make sense, so we’ll remain cautious about this one for the time being.
