Tutto Mercato Web claims Everton and AS Monaco ‘think’ about Joao Mario of Inter Milan.

The Portugal international’s contract with Luciano Spalletti’s side will run down in 2021, but the Italian website states he will say ‘goodbye’ to the Serie A side in the summer.

Mario made 22 appearances across all competitions, which includes 13 starts, and after a campaign with limited presence, it’s explained he can move abroad for a ‘reasonable price’.

Inter paid €40m to Sporting to secure the player’s services in 2016 and the report suggests he will be available for €16m in the next transfer window.

Marco Silva’s side and the Ligue 1 club have already ‘carried out a survey’ for the 26-year-old. That means they’ve asked for information about the signing, although it’s not specified who Everton have contacted.

After completing a short loan spell at West Ham United in the 2017/18 season, Mario insisted last June that he does not want to go back to his parent club.

The Nerazzurri were reportedly willing to sanction his transfer last summer, but no deal took shape and the midfielder was forced to continue at the San Siro.
