Inter Milan have included Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey in their target list for 2025.
That’s at least what InterLive.it are reporting, and they say the 27-year-old is a ‘concrete idea’ for the Nerazzurri.
Bailey managed 14 goals and 14 assists from 54 matches for Aston Villa last season. He hasn’t scored or registered an assist this season, but his displays have caught the Serie A side’s attention.
The Italian champions are looking for a player who can impact the outcome of the games. They believe the Aston Villa player could ‘solve the problem’ thanks to his qualities and versatility. He can play on both wings.
There’s belief the Jamaica international could fit into Simone Inzaghi’s system at Inter. The manager has mainly used a 3-5-2 formation at the San Siro, since taking charge in the summer of 2021.
Bailey has a contract with the Villans lasting until 2027 and the report claims he’s valued at €40m+.
The Aston Villa star’s asking price is the ‘real problem’ for Inter. Despite their interest, it’s claimed the Nerazzurri would ‘struggle to reach’ the fee requested by Unai Emery’s side.
Transfermarkt values Bailey at €42m. It’s likely Aston Villa director Monchi would request a fee much higher than that, if he decides to sanction his sale.
