Watford signed Dimitri Foulquier from Granada in 2017, but he is yet to feature for the Hornets as he spent last season on loan at RC Strasbourg and this season at Getafe.
The fullback has been used on the right side of midfield and has so far impressed with his display, scoring thrice and setting up another goal in 17 league appearances.
Getafe do not have the option to make his deal permanent and three days ago, the Frenchman told FuriaLiga that he is not thinking about where he will be playing next season.
According to Marca, the La Liga outfit are planning to sign him on a permanent deal following his ‘great performance’ this term.
It’s claimed the Spanish club are aware that any approach from them to land the 25-year-old will not be easy because negotiations with Javi Gracia’s side will be ‘tough’ and they will not sell him for ‘cheap’.
Foulquier’s wages are way too high for Getafe and in the event they convert his loan move to permanent transfer, they will have to take care of the salary.
In Marca’s report, it’s not mentioned whether Foulquier is open to the idea of joining Getafe and if Gracia has any plans to include him in his plans for next season at Watford.
