The news of Bruno Amorim joining Manchester United really caught everyone by surprise. Although they broke the news, the Portuguese media didn’t see it coming and are now trying to catch up on the situation.
Both A Bola and O Jogo claim the player is currently having a trial at the club and should be signing a contract with Manchester United soon.
A Bola throw up some interesting pieces of information: Bruno Amorim spent most of the 2016/17 season playing for the Oliveirense U19s, and scored 10 goals in 33 matches. He also made seven appearances for the first team.
Although Manchester United are only expected to pay Oliveirense a fee for training rights, the deal is seen well in Portugal, especially because it’s expected the partnership could provide a good interchange relation between the two clubs.
A Bola claims that the player’s skills attracted José Mourinho a long time ago, and Italian clubs were also interested in signing him.
Manchester United’s almost obsessive scouting of Portugal has seen them get there first, and in Portugal it’s expected Bruno Amorim will soon be a Manchester United player.
